Would any practicing Roman Catholics on here, help me to understand how they are able to accommodate their religion in the face of diametrically opposed scripture?

Yes Ummmm - it started at the Christening but when you reached the use of reasoning - then it became a little indoctrinated. You couldn't be indoctrinated with a drop of holy water dropped on your head. LOL

I think Tambo has hit the nail on head, I'm not sure I know anyone who consults the rule book on a daily basis - does a driver check the Highway Code every time they turn the ignition?

I like my parents before me try to live a good life and observe the easy to follow rules I was taught,yes I have made adjustments to ensure my family are safe along the way but have not harmed anyone else by that.

Also we do have the Confessional as a back up.

The New Testament specifically points out the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, yet this Jesuit pope has said such a thing is abhorrent, and a relationship with Christ can only be realised through the Church of Rome.

I think the point I'm trying to make is that a just God ought to make His meaning clear. Or, at least, understand why His products so frequently misunderstand His intentions.

I haven’t rewritten history, but that’s what your man (an evangelical Christian) attempts to do.
