Would any practicing Roman Catholics on here, help me to understand how they are able to accommodate their religion in the face of diametrically opposed scripture?

Which diametrically opposed scripture ?
The 2nd commandment for starters, about bowing down to graven images.
It is all very confusing to understand completely without blind faith.

Having been brought up as an roman catholic in my early childhood, I was never able to grasp the concept of one mystical being a god and spirit at the same time. And then to add that god and his son are one and the same just smelled of foul play.

Luckily, I woke up in time.
Catholics are brought into the church at a very early age, taught a load of conkers (which they have to recite blindly - or used to with catechism) which was impossible to understand by an adult, never mind a child.
By the time they are old enough and start doubting, the old brainwashing kicks in.
Hooray for the more enlightened in society who are starting to question blind faith - of all religions.
Jackdaw LOL... especially from someone very familiar with St.Michaels and All Saints in Tollcross Edinburgh. :-)

Worshipping idols, praying to dead people, transubstantiation, papal infallibility, celibacy, tradition equal to scriptural authority, Mary co redemptrix, confession to a priest to name but a few.

Priests follow Rome.
A website called either Berean Beacon or Berean Call is run by an ex priest who is now a Christian.

No it doesn't. It's no faith.

I was brought up a RC.

A faith that the universe came into being all by itself?
Life formed from inert chemicals all on their own?
Wow! That takes a lot of faith.
Well that's Roman Catholics and Atheists analysed and dismissed, what do you believe Theland?
One thing I've learnt from AB is I never paid any heed at all in mass or my RS classes.

I always thought that Roman Catholics were Christians - have I missed something Theland?
I do feel however, when we were indoctrinated into the faith ie Holy Communion then age 7 - cnfirmation at 11 - what the hell did we know. Just followed mum and dad - however, did it does us any harm - me no,
I believe you can believe in what faith in what you want to be - simply - anything - as long as you are a good person or try to be.
It started at the Christening.
