I do not believe in a God as in a Deity in long white robes sitting somewhere above the clouds looking down on us and trying to impart wisdom and a sense of right / wrong, good / evil.
However, I do believe that humankind has evolved to the point where we have an innate concept of what is 'good' and what is 'bad'.
This is due to our empathy with and understanding of other people.
There are obviously a great many exceptions to this , too many to list, however the general trend is towards greater 'humanity' .
I have been fortunate enough to meet ex president of Zambia Kenneth Kaunda , his concept of 'Zambian Humanism' is the closest I am likely to find to my own view. Basically we should 'do the right thing' , not hurting others or taking what does not belong to us for example, not because some one up in the sky tells us to, but because we are 'Human' and endowed with reason, sympathy, empathy and emotion.
