I look forward to a discussion re: my OP without You-Tube links if possible? I'd like to hear *YOUR* take on things, not others opinions...
It was only when I started to think for myself that I broke away from Christianity and realised that I had my own mind, and I didn't (couldn't?) take the word of others as been 'gospel'.
Just for the record, I don't hate Christians but I do love reason and honesty.

Did God create evil? This is just one of several ways this is answered.
Evil is the absence of good, of God.

There are many difficult passages in the Bible.
Does every new convert to Christianity have to be a complete expert on all of them?
Fortunately, there are many people and institutions who have spent many years studying these passages, and give us explanations that do not contravene our belief in a loving God.
It is a simple enough process to type into the Internet your awkward question, and then follow the links to the expert answers.
Then everybody is happy eh?
