I personally believe in the existence of God, (though it may take some time beyond your attention span to make a clear definition). I don't actually give a s-h-i*t if you do or do not, but I find 'atheism' puzzling. The champion of these is of course Richard Dawkins who has made himself into a millionaire on your intellectual laziness.
It may not need any total commitment on your behalf, agnosticism seems to be the sensible position for you;

Dawkins is recognised as a great Zoologist. Hawking was recognised as a gret Cosmologist and mathematician, but that gave neither of them a license to pontificate in the realms of philosophy or religion which born of them did.
Neither were experts in that field.
Having a Phd in one field does not qualify anybody to speak with authority in other fields which is something Dawkins and Hawking did.
