I can’t find the thread I saw fleetingly earlier where Theland said that Genesis 6 confuses him but that a Christian apologist(?) had explained the content. I assume Theland means the first part of the chapter which is, indeed, curious, so here you are Theland, a special thread.

// And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.//

What was his explanation?

Over to you - and to anyone else who would like to have a little ponder on it.

OK. Iv'e watched 30 mins worth of your vid Theland. (30 mins I'll never get back) I will try to watch the rest later out of a courtesy to yourself.

So far he hasn't explained just how spiritual beings manage to have a DNA code. (obviously needed in order to reproduce).

At around the 26:47 mark he makes mention of ancient reports of giants in different mythologies as evidence for the Nephilim. There are reports of dragons in various mythologies as well but he seems to have bypassed that no one believes in fire breathing creatures anymore. He also seems to have bypassed the fact that though these reports existed in ancient MYTH, there has been (to date) no archaeological evidence for any such beings.
In the list of ''Giant Skeletons Reported'' he shows one of 300ft, one of 195ft, one of 80.5 ft etc.
Think that they may have left a trace in the archaeological record.

He talked about how our English translations of the Bible are all flawed. Can you direct me to an unflawed translation? Would like to read the original. (Oh, I can't can I? We dont have originals, so anyone can claim that its all a mistranslation)

At 24:45 he mentions how the Greeks had people that were partly celestial / partly terrestrial. That rings a bell about another Bible character (who was also written about in the Greek language...Gospel of John I think...cant quite recall right now...)

He mentions the Great Pyramid, Stonehenge and (for some strange reason) the Face of Mars. Says that we have no idea how the Great pyramid or Stonehenge were built...as if that somehow proved that Nephilim or fallen angels once existed. The Face on Mars thing totally lost me except to say that since he recorded this its now been shown (through better technology) that there IS no face on mars.

Should I continue viewing do you think?
Theland @ 18:05
//The world was suffering genetic pollution//

*ALL* the world?
Australia? The Americas? Europe?
ALL were been bonked by 'The Sons of God' (Fallen angels)?
AND were producing giants (Nephilim)
Any evidence, archaological or otherwise?
//Noah was righteous in his generations.
That is genetically pure, unsullied by the nephillim.
The world was suffering genetic pollution//

Shame that Noah's flood didnt cure it then as there were Nephilim in Canaan generations later. So which of Noah's descendants copulated with fallen 300ft fallen angels?
And just as an afterthought, can any AB lady here, imagine having sex with a 300ft partner?
Makes my eyes water at the thought ...
Just because he's 300ft tall doesn't mean he's similarly proportioned where it counts, though.

Nailit, I'm impressed. Have a gold star. Nothing supernatural about all that 'begetting'.
Aliens innit!

I am more likely to accept ancient alien hybridization than angels. Fallen or otherwise and to be honest I don't have much belief in that either.
However a mutant gene could have arisen and remained in a local population for several generation s Those possessing it might only have exceeded today's norms by a small amount to generate stories of giants. A mutant gene might be linked to other issues that reduced breeding success so the population faded quite quickly.
Giants is not an accurate translation from the original Greek, although there are similarities.
Let Missler do the talking.
Don't be tempted into becoming facetious or you will miss the point.

Theland, //Giants is not an accurate translation from the original Greek//

The original doesn’t exist - but it wasn’t written in Greek.

Whilst we have to try to sort the wheat out from the chaff, there seems to be some substance to the claim that giants existed. Deuteronomy mentions them, the Book of Numbers records the existence of creatures to whom men were as grasshoppers, and Samuel gives us Goliath’s height. He was almost 10 feet tall.

All of that said, the important thing to me in that chapter is not the claim that giants existed, but that the ‘sons of God’ took a fancy to human women and mated with them so presumably they were creatures of flesh and blood rather than spiritual beings. My question is, therefore, who were ‘the sons of God’?

//Let Missler do the talking.//

Why? He didn’t have a monopoly on available information. All of that is readily available to anyone who can be bothered to research it. He was yet another of your evangelical Christians with an agenda - and actually a questionable history.
Naomi - the original Hebrew was first translated into Greek.
If you stop shooting the messenger and listen to what is said, it might prove rewarding.
However, if your criticism is simply limited to personal attacks on these apologists, you are going to miss the point, as well as putting me off further discussions.
Question Author
Theland, //Naomi - the original Hebrew was first translated into Greek.//

The original Hebrew has, arguably, been carried down the centuries - in Hebrew. If you want to know about the Hebrews, seeking information from the new kids on the block (the Christians) is, for obvious reasons, a mistake.

I make no apology for telling the truth Theland. Whether or not you join these discussions is entirely your choice so please stop playing the victim again. You’re not.
Yes Hebrew down the centuries but there was an intermittent stage an giants is taken fro the root of a Greek word.
Theland, Im confused
//Giants is not an accurate translation from the original Greek//
So you DON'T believe that the Nephilim were giants then?
If you don't believe that they were, then why direct us to Missler who produces ''evidence'' (using the term loosly) that they were giants?
You've stated elsewhere that he had answered your questions about the subject but now disagree?...

Confused from Stoke ;-)
//He was yet another of your evangelical Christians with an agenda - and actually a questionable history//
And also a questionable theology if you research what other evangelicals think of him...
Can you find fault in his thinkingy?
What other evangelicals?
//Can you find fault in his thinkingy?//
You havn't read my previous posts have you?

//What other evangelicals?//
Do your own research, why should I do it for you?
//Can you find fault in his thinkingy?//
Well you evidently have. Giants dont mean giants apparently?
Which is it?
Make your mind up,
Ive just been on the phone to a friend.
Hes a diagnosed schizophrenic, and a born again christian. His head is so messed up its unreal. Bible quote after Bible quote and yet he's so messed up. Just wanted to scream at him ''get a *** life'' and leave the bible stuff out.
But I couldnt!
He believes in giants and wizards and other unreal stuff as well.
Just feel for him...

As I do for others.
Goliath and his brothers were obviously very tall. Yes giants among men.
But let's not get all cryptic about this.
Missler has not crossed the line into bad doctrine but proclaims Jesus Christ as our Saviour.
Where he is clever is in revealing facts in the scriptures that I for one would overlook.
The purity of Noah's genealogy being a case in point.
There is only one essential doctrine, all found in Jesus Christ, who said, "Love God and love each other. This is the whole of the Law and the Prophets."
