I can’t find the thread I saw fleetingly earlier where Theland said that Genesis 6 confuses him but that a Christian apologist(?) had explained the content. I assume Theland means the first part of the chapter which is, indeed, curious, so here you are Theland, a special thread.

// And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.//

What was his explanation?

Over to you - and to anyone else who would like to have a little ponder on it.

//Goliath and his brothers were obviously very tall//
300ft if you go on Misslers evidences.

//But let's not get all cryptic about this//
Best not!

//Missler has not crossed the line into bad doctrine but proclaims Jesus Christ as our Saviour//
But that wasnt the point was it? The point was about nephilim.
I can feel the goalpost moving again.

//Where he is clever is in revealing facts in the scriptures that I for one would overlook//
Like Giants that arnt really giants?
Yes, very clever.

I indulged you Theland in watching one of your you tube vids and you have totally disregarded any reply.
What a joke you are.

according to the dead sea scrolls,Goliath was four cubits tall, about six feet.

Vulcan, //And a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. [over 9 feet]//
1 Samuel 17.4

Theland, why do you complicate matters by depending upon texts that have been translated from Hebrew into Greek and then into English when the Hebrew texts are available to you? Don’t listen to people like Missler. Get it from the horse’s mouth.
//Get it from the horse’s mouth.//
To mix metaphors; Horse speak with forked tongue.
Question Author
Fascinating.
Why are we getting bogged down on gigantism, whatever it was.
Clearly tall but how tall is not the issue.

Nailit is well and truly bogged down now and so the moving goalpost mockery begins.
Whatever you think of Missler personally, (and let's face it you don't like anybody,) he has pointed out a few important facts.
Noah's genealogy was pure, fallen angels had procreated with human women producing Nephillim.
These are characterised by violence, sexual immorality, and contaminated the blood lines of other tribes whilst introducing and promoting idolatry with human sacrifice.

Theland, //and let's face it you don't like anybody//

What’s that all about? How nasty.

//Why are we getting bogged down on gigantism, whatever it was.

Your man saw fit to discuss it as did you. I’ve given several examples of ‘evidence’ for giants and Vulcan has posted something from a different source that offers contradictory information, so again something that needs bones sorted. However, whatever these beings were they were not spiritual and they weren't the product of spiritual creatures. That much is clear.

//fallen angels//

As far as I’m aware, fallen angels are not mentioned anywhere in the bible. It’s made up to serve a purpose.

I've never been a fan of their music, Collins was much better when he went on his own
Question Author
Khandro, The New Testament doesn’t work (are you seriously offering Revelation as evidence?) … and neither do the couple of examples from the Old Testament, neither of which mention fallen angels.
// by depending upon texts that have been translated from Hebrew into Greek and then into English when the Hebrew texts are available to you?//

er because there is no one here who read aramaic - yes I have checked. Modeller used to but he hasnt posted for a few years and seemed more interested in mocking rather than informimg

Ch 6 - obviously metaphorical to me ( a bit like creation in 7 d and then no change)
Question Author
^That’s irrelevant.
Nasty? Not so.
You criticise every apologist I ever mention.
William Lane Craig, Stephen C Meyer, Johnathon Cahn, to name just a few.
Seems like you are incapable of challenging them academically so just write them off as nut jobs.
Like I said, you don't like anybody.
Khandro is right.
There are only two types of Sons Of God, Angels, and by adaption, born again Christians.
The only angels on Earth in Genesis were the fallen angels, Sons Of God.
Question Author
Carry on, Theland. Personal attack is the last resort of a failing argument.

Fallen angels? No such thing. It's made up.
Question Author
//There are only two types of Sons Of God, Angels, and by adaption, born again Christians. //

Born Again Christians are sons of God? Are you for real?
The world of theological academia are all wrong then.
It's a waste of time discussing anything with you Naomi, as your pride and bigotry prevent open and honest conversation.
Talk to Nailit, I'm out.
