What Would It Take To Convince You Otherwise
121 Answers
As a young, ex fundamental, evangelical Christian, what led me out of faith was an (albeit reluctant) admission that I was simply wrong. After years of wrestling with doubts, questions, voracious reading, Bible study, prayer, etc I simply had to admit that my faith was misplaced and I had NO evidence for my beliefs. I had to accept that I was wrong on so many levels.
SO...what would it take to convince you (if you are religious) that *YOU* may be wrong?
(Conversley....just to be fare...what would convince an atheist that THEY may be wrong)?

We find him quite interesting & so do many others - he has had to date 304 million views!
I think what he & many others who are part of the burgeoning group who are taking a new look at the importance of religion within society is articulating, could be analogous to someone living in a house with several problems, say, a leak in the roof, a few broken windows & a door or two of its hinges. That person can either fix those problems or carry on living with them, or could remove them completely by burning the house down, which would definitely deal with those annoying issues, but then there would be just one big problem - no home!
Still, there's always the garden shed.

Torah@ A good brian to distinguish. It say. “Solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their perceptive powers trained to distinguish both right and wrong.” (Heb. 5:14
(There is nothing admirable in your philosophy)True Naomi
Definition: The word philosophy is derived from Greek roots that mean “love of wisdom.” As used here, philosophy is not built on acceptance of belief in God, but it tries to give people a unified view of the universe and endeavors to make them critical thinkers. It employs chiefly speculative means rather than observation in a search for truth.

Is that the Royal 'we' or the Loyal 'we', or a different 'we' Khandro ?
Hitler and PewDiePie had lots of 'views' too, neither are to my taste.
Talking of views Khandro did you watch the Link I posted ?
It would be interesting to hear your 'view' on it. -- I try never to be "full of assumptions" hence I won't assume you will ignore my question Khandro.
In Lak’ech.

//Benjamin waxes lyrical on Aristotle and Aristotle gets a different interpretation in my Link //
Aristotle has more devoted readers than even Carl Benjamin, wouldn't you say? As for your man, nobody but you seems to have heard of him.
Actually, I just tried googling, 'Dr Michael Parenti' & all I got was a knee surgeon in Buffalo (come to think of it, whose services I could do with at the moment).

Khandro - // //Can anyone actually believe they were the first of our species.//
Well somebody was. //
If you believe that 'a couple' started the human race, then there is a massive amount of evidence to advise that evolution means that humanity developed from primeval apes, so no 'one couple' can be responsible.
Surely you don't actually believe that Adam And Eve started the human race - do you?
