As I have always maintained, atheism is a faith.
So what are the possibilities of physics creating something out of nothing?
I follow some of the most significant scientists involved in this pursuit, and always find their research commendable, but always found wanting.

Theland - // Andy @ 18:13 - '' Atheists BELIEVE that physics is the creator.''

Where on earth do you get that assumption from!!
atheist
[ˈeɪθɪɪst]
NOUN
a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods.
"he is a committed atheist"
synonyms:
non-believer · non-theist · disbeliever · unbeliever · heretic · sceptic · doubter · doubting Thomas · agnostic · infidel · irreligious person · heathen · pagan · freethinker · libertine · nihilist · paynim · nullifidian

Obviously it's 'wanting'. If they had the answer, we could all go home.
The difference is, scientists know they don't have the answer, which is why they are looking for one.
You on the other hand are convinced you 'know' because of your personal interpretation of the bible.
I know which I would put my money on here - a group of people who are looking for something, rather than someone who claims to have found it, but has no evidence whatsoever to prove it.

pixie - // Atheism is a lack of faith theland, a lack of believing in a God. You do still seem to believe that all atheists must have faith in something else. It is just disbelief. //
Theland is similarly disinclined to believe your point as he is to the notion that his interpretation of the Bible could, by any stretch of the imagination, be in the same universe as 'wrong'.
I know, I've been telling him that atheism, by definition, is the absence of faith, but he simply won't accept it.

Theland, I think Andy said something I disagree with when he said that atheists believe that physics is the creator. Physics is not a person or entity that could create something; physics is a word for the process of looking at the world in search of discovering the truth about what is really out there. One looks at the world and comes up with ideas, which one then examines and tests against what the world tells us. If our ideas turn out not to agree with what we observe, we change our ideas and try again. Physicists don't just give up and say "Oh well, we don't understand, so we'll just say that god did it all." I really think that in your heart you must agree that honest seeking is better than giving up and accepting a vague theory that you've found an answer. I know you never seem to give a striaght response to comments like this, but could you perhaps, just for once, tell us what you really make of what I have said? Don't simply say, "You are wrong." Say something that might demonstrate that god wasn't wasting his time trying to give you intelligence.
Theland, it really hurts me to find someone who spurns the clues that god (or the universe) gives us. Your god would in my mind despise a "fool" who refuses to listen or think; he (or it) would despair that he had failed in hisaim of creating intelligent life. Please think about it and try to put aside your arrogance.
Yes Andy said he, '' believes.''
Atheist, no, I'm not arrogant. I simply relate what my beliefs are. You are all entitled to yours, I'm not trying to get any of you to agree with me.
You all know the gospel, so there's no need to ell you about it.
Whether you accept or reject it is entirely your business, not mine.
I simply join in the discussion ad TRY to answer questions.
Nailit, read your bible, it was not a talking snake.
Finally, at least I provide entertainment for you all :-)

Atheist @ 20:14 - Of course I am familiar with the scientific method.
But scientists are bound by a worldview of naturalism, that prevents even any consideration of a metaphysical dimension.
Their investigations and observations are by definition incapable of detecting the spiritual.
Don't you agree?
