Do You Prefer Fact Or Fiction?
285 Answers
After 55 years on this earth I prefer fact.
As much as it pains me, as much as it upsets me, I prefer facts over faith.
A few weeks ago I was nearly suicidal. Still prefer facts to 'faith'. If I had ended my life then, I would have been dead, end off, no atheist in foxhole here.
Just dont understand this religious preoccupation with living forever....
I honesty just dont get it?
What the hell are you going to to FOREVER?
It would be like watching a game of football that went on forever...there wouldnt be a point,

1 Peter 3 16 is
1 Peter 3:16, KJV: "Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ." ... Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ."
seems to be nothing about testing faith by questioning
ho hum - normal post on AB then

is quite hard to translate ( from the NewTestament greek silly!)
... may be stumbling as the left out scriptures (*) leading to their own destruction
loipas graphas - writings left out - to stumble over
MAY BE about - the struggle to define the New Testament at the end of the first century ( 50-100 AD that is!) OR the selection of which letters were Kosher and which were not.
Babies ( paidia, tekna.... agapaytoi) Christ did not unpluck his hand from the cross and hand St Mary a missal and bible and say here read this - - - nothing at that time had been written and the whole of the NT had to form over the next centuries

//Pixie - God is eternal.
Until you understand that, and accept it, you will not be able to accept anything else I have written.//
I won't understand or accept that, just because it's written down. Could you please explain how?
You seem to expect atheists (as if they are one group together) to have rational answers about where the earth came from. But can't answer yourself, the basic question of where god came from? And how and why?
It's as rational as me telling you the universe "just is". And expecting that to change your beliefs.
