Only the bible describes the state of the world as we head into the End Times.
Only the bible has verifiable prophecies that can be tested for truth.
Is it not time to take the bible seriously?

the letter in the Times today said: Bible Studies Dear Sir, Keith Elliott writes about the debate over the exclusive authority of the New Testament (credo letters). Christians believe that canonical scripture was established under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. That some books entered the canon 'by the skin of their teeth' is immaterial....

As long as you are happy with your worldview Nailit, I suppose that for you that's all that counts.
Its must that you never really seem deliriously happy.
Maybe Theland has a point there nailit. I have to say, you do seem to be a troubled chap, at least that's the appearance you give on here.
Come to that, Khandro, Theland never seems too happy either. He's always bemoaning his lot in life - even though his 'lot' isn't as bad as he likes to portray, so it seems to me that nailit is doing just as well without religion.
Fervents are like joggers - they claim it's good for them, but you never see them smile.
....still going?!
I was always led to believe that having faith made you happy. It doesn't seem to have worked for people like theland who paints his anguish and pain on here every day. Desperately trying to get us all to agree with him. If that's faith, smite me now!
We are very fortunate to be alive now. Our lives are better for more people now than at any time in the history of mankind.
So why are you so eager for the End Times?
If you believe in God, you should be grateful he has been so generous for you to live your life at such a special time.
Wow so this thread is still going on?!

I guess as long as there’s folk to join the debate (tho I use that term very loosely) it will continue.

Wonder if it will reach the AB record (which I have no idea of)
It won’t, Eve. I can’t remember what the record is but I know its many thousands.
Oh ye of little faith.
Tut! You and your blue eyes!

Love the new avatar. Similar to the last ... in its way. ;o)
I assure you my previous comment was intended as a compliment. Then I would never expect anyone, especially not someone as savvy as you, to simply take my word for it. But enough with the compliments already . . . let's cook.
:o)

''He's always bemoaning his lot in life.''
More lies.
Theland - // ''He's always bemoaning his lot in life.''
More lies. //

I'd say a difference in perception, rather than an actual lie.

I think Theland, that you think you are a happy person because of your faith.

But my perception of you is that worry constantly that others do not share your view, hence your continual battle to convince people on this site - and to me you come across as anxious and unhappy.

It's all a matter of perception.
No lies theland. For years you gave everyone the impression you’re poor - you actually said you’re poor but you’re not - and not so long ago you posted a thread giving the distinct impression that you had been given an imminent death sentence - and boy, did that elicit sympathetic attention. You’re a fraud, theland.

Andy, the truth is that my health problems and worries about my family have indeed caused me angst and led to bouts of depression.
But Christianity is not a passport to a trouble free life.
In fact just the opposite.
Following Jesus Christ imperfectly, but the best that I can, is not a cure all for life's problems, but in fact can and does attract more problems, from mere mockery to fatal persecution as any reasonable thinker will attest.
But in spite of life's problems I have the satisfaction of knowing that God is in charge and this life is not the end.

An imminent death sentence?
No, I had a four hospitalisations this year, one of which was as close as ever to death. Yes the NHS saved my life.
Sorry to disappoint you.
Hang in there Theland
