If YOUR holy book told you to kill people,
Would you?

Bet you wouldnt?
So why defend a book that does?
Probably because you havnt read it......

Guns don't kill people, readers of Bibles and Qurans do.

I thought it was Nailit who famously said "Live and let live" LOL
Spungle, nailit's OP isn't about living though, is it.
What nailt's assertion in the OP misses, is that the very foundation of Christianity - the bible New Testament, teaches the absolute opposite;

"Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever. shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment"
Matthew 5:21

But then this is R & S in AnswerBank, so what else would you expect?
The barbarians are not at the gates, they're inside the house!
Khandro, //What nailt's assertion in the OP misses, is that the very foundation of Christianity - the bible New Testament, teaches the absolute opposite; //

Nailit didn't miss anything. He didn't mention Christianity - or any other religion.

If you think the barbarians are 'in the house' you're the one who's missing something. Look again.
So in that case we can rule out the bible, correct?

Haven't had the So Rule for a while, nice to see it's not forgottten!!
//Haven't had the So Rule for a while, nice to see it's not forgottten!!//

No? but we're never short of irrelevant half-witted comments
Khandro, Insofar as it doesn't command the reader to kill strangers, yes, we can indeed rule out the bible.
So what are we left with, - the Koran ? Well everyone who has read or seen the endless quotes from it knows that. So what's the point of the OP do you think?
You’ve made a giant leap there, Khandro. The God of the Bible did tell the Hebrews to kill their disobedient children so I guess the point of the OP is as he says.
As Mel Brooks said, "Too Jewish".
Gesundheit!
Khandro - // //Haven't had the So Rule for a while, nice to see it's not forgottten!!//

True, but you mustn't be so hard on yourself, we non-believers are a patient bunch.
Ah! our biblical scholar returns.
Khandro - // Ah! our biblical scholar returns. //

Indeed you do.

Anything fresh, original, interesting, different, to offer?

That would be a novelty.
I miss Theland. He would've loved this.
I doubt he would. He'd have turned it into his usual interminable droning about prophecy. Theland diverted practically everything in that direction.
As a Christian, No I wouldn't. The Bible tells us in Exodus that we are not to kill. Jesus also said that we were to love our neighbour, If this was the case then we would not want to harm them. (Neighbour means anyone, not just next door).
Which 'holy' book 'tells' it's adherents to 'kill people', Nailit?
