There isn't a God, Stevie, proof at last.
It's just started raining again - too hard for me to go.
No-one who professed to be a loving God would do this to me.
On the other hand, perhaps there is a God and he's punishing me because I have the audacity to read HP.
Well, yah boo sucks because my daughter's gone to fetch it for me!
Ever considered atheism?

Strictly I should ask if you've considered non-theism as atheism suggests that you don't believe in God, whereas non-theism is the belief that there isn't one to believe in anyway!

Dusty Bin,i believe there is something, what he/she/it is i am not sure,a supreme being maybe,i believe in Evolution but that its also not the answer to everything...I think the answer to the question will only be answered when i leave this cruel world,,,will there be light or only darkness :)
Stevie, I'm of the same mind as you. I also believe there is something - and that something encompasses all of nature. I believe in a 'god' (for want of a better word) of love, but I don't think it ever set rules for mankind, nor did it inspire men in ancient times to write a book, neither does it concern itself with our misdemeanours - it's far bigger than that. In my opinion, the god of the bible it certainly is not. Sadly those who worship the biblical god are arrogant enough to believe we're alone, unique and so very special in this vast universe - but I'm quite convinced they're wrong.
We continue to search outside ourselves for answers from a book and a belief written by man.
The being we call God represented in The Bible was made within the constraints of human knowledge.
A true God should be one of love.
So what happened to the version we've had to put up with?
If Jesus was to meet up with his Dad again after his passing,I should think he must of turned the air blue and called him all the names above the Sun.

'Dad, Where's the love you promised?'
'There I was traipsing over hill and dale healing the sick, feeding the hungry and for what?'
'Just so I could be tortured and nailed to a cross'
'Dad, you do work in mysterious ways'
Hi Luna, Astute as usual. I love your quirky take on things. You do make me laugh.
Thank you Naomi , I'm sure man's God will forgive me or then again.......
Mmmm ... doubt it Luna. You, like me and several others around here appear to be doomed, but at least we can all go together to wherever we're going to be sent. Oh well, looks like it's party time again!!
I found a site that you can ensure you meet him to hit

At most only one religion can be correct.
All the ones from the wrong ones look pretty silly then in their silly outfits carrying out their rituals.

Personally I think they are ALL wrong so I have a good laugh at the idiots in dresses with silly hats on.

One of the ways i see it is, Priests,Monks,Nuns,Voodoo Doctors etc etc,and my ma and pa too....These people devote tha majority of their lives to something that they will only recieve after they have passed on,,,now i think that taking a bit too much of a chance,,,imagine you spend almost your entire life for youe beliefs, then when you die ooops, you were wrong and the David Koresh cult was right, that would be a right wounder,,,i'l take the chance of an eternity in the fires of hell and enjoy what life i do have left...
Everyone who has found religion is convinced they have the right answer, but they can't possibly all be right. The only real answer is to live your life in the best way you can, to help others where you can, and to do no harm to your fellow man.
When it comes down to understanding the whys and wherefores of the inevitable calamities that accompany the existence of a conscious mortal being, why do so many resort to the futility of attempting to explain the unexplained with the unexplainable, most commonly through the belief in the existence of a non-existent god? What is it about the puzzle of reality that prompts so many to run and hide from the only real solution available to us, namely, the implementation of the potential and proven power of reason? The application of reason to integrating and understanding where we are, how we got here and setting a course to where we want to be in the future should be the focus of our attention and all other explorations only result in leading us astray. Why is the conclusion that we must search elsewhere for something other not invariably perceived as the overwhelmingly counterproductive force that it is?

Will someone please explain this fascination and preoccupation with misery and death and the pursuit of the self-delusion and self-annihilation of seeking some imaginary avenue of escape from the immutable and absolute nature of reality? Have you forgotten or have you never learned that happiness is an attainable goal to those willing to make themselves worthy of experiencing it by accepting nothing less than what is real to those who demand honesty with themselves and have the courage to face reality head-on?

Please do not worry yourself over my agony for I am through with beating my head against the brick wall of humanities seemingly inexhaustible capacity for self-deception and consequent suffering. I have learned to deal with it and I offer no other consolation than that with an adequate desire and willingness to put forth the required effort, if I have than you can too. When you consider the alternative, more of the same, you will realise that you have nothing to loose and everything to gain.
Stevie, The sad ♪ sad ♪ truth, the dirty ♫ dirty ♫ dirty ♫ low down is that for the most part the universe marches on to the beat a drum whos rhythm is predetermined not by the conscious choice of either a depraved, deviant demon nor an intelligent purposeful entity but by the inertial angular momentum of the wheels and gears that are the mechanism of some known and many yet to be determined physical laws that govern the cause and effect nature of the universe.

As humans we are neither omniscient nor all powerful creatures so we are left with the task of learning to do the best we can to see to it that the outcomes of our actions produce the desired result to the extent that that is possible to a being of limited yet potentially astonishing abilities. Accepting the limitations imposed by our nature and the need to understand the principles governing what is possible within the reality we find ourselves is an essential and key component to making the best of this situation.

I would not attempt to measure or compare the extent or degree of the pain you are feeling with that of myself or anyone else. Such pain although completely justified is not conducive to eliminating the cause of its existence. I hope you will find a way to funnel the energy of your rightful anger into determining the real causes of blind injustice and find some relief in making this world we have no alternative but to live in a better place than what we found it.

Best wishes to you and yours!
I have to agree with mib. Anger aimed at something you have no control over is futile.
I`m with you stevie, can i give him a kicking too?
