Do any of you that believe in ghosts believe in ufo's and other "Unexplaned phenomena"? Do you also believe in god, and do you think there is some kind of link?
I can't explain the science or prove it but here's a theory. When for example someone dies violently "energy., emotion etc is generated/released". Not that difficult to accept, it is fact that the human brain produces electrical activity which can be detected and shown on a screen.
This could then be recorded on some form of media in a manner not disimilar to the way sound is recorded on electromagnetic tape. This is then played back by a suitable devive. Perhaps a suitably tuned human brain.
Only a theory but it explains much of the evidence and it doesn't drastically depart from conventional science.
Good answers og.
Lol@Av, but these were disasters about to happen and were allegedly averted by ghostly figures, warnings etc...Ie...
I was always ridiculed by my friends and work mates because I believe that the dead can contact the living. Nobody would ever believe me. But they changed their tune late one night when the siren blared and news arrived from the coal pit.
My friend had been working deep in the pit when he saw the ghostly shape of another miner approach him. Shocked, my friend jumped up from where he was working and followed the phantom down the passage. As soon as he got close the figure faded away into thin air.
As he turned around to return to his workplace the ceiling of the tunnel behind him collapsed with a crash. If he hadn't followed the spectre he would have died in the accident. The ghost had saved his life
Theres many stories like this, are they all coincidence?
I don't believe in Santa Claus because I know he is a fictional character. I don't believe in unicorns or dragons because their nature dictates they would have been documented if they existed.
UFOs and ghosts I keep an open mind about because to my mind their is no strong evidence either way.
By your logic, as I have never seen you and don't know anybody who has your probably just something easily explainable like a computer glitch. So please get off this thread as I don't believe in you therefore you don't exist.
The thing that winds me up most on these kind of threads is the people with a completely closed mind who won't even consider someone else's argument. It's interesting that when I come on and basically say I don't know, I'm open minded it's the nay-sayers who get the most affronted.
Zac, I also saw something I couldn't explain, but that was in daylight. It was shaped like a ball, silver in colour, and the top front of it glinted, like sunlight reflecting on glass. I'm not very good at estimating size, but I would say it was about 20ft in diameter, and it was moving just above the rooftops of four storey flats, so it was very low. That also moved completely silently.
Similar to Naomi, I once saw a bright shiny ball in the daylight. It was hovering very high up above the clouds but gave off a powerful light that made it difficult to look at. I'm still not sure what it was.
A-V there are crop circles every year but now the people involved do it openly and get permission from the farmers to do at a time it will not affect their crop - not as intriguing but very nice to look at!
As for UFO’s well I find it even more nonsensical to think we are the only planet in the universe to have some form of intelligent life, the odds are against us on that one. Are they visiting us? I have not personally seen a UFO, but I would not rule out the possibility.
Jake, I know we've had this conversation many times before, and I'm well aware that you are far more educated in matters of science than I am, but the fact is science doesn't know everything, and it's my belief that in the grand scale of things we are still very much in our infancy. I think that any scientist who completely discounts anything for which he currently has no explanation is blinkered. Science should surely be about keeping an open mind until positive evidence one way or the other is achieved.
Notwithstanding the fact that the recent 'crop' of corn circles have been admitted by hoaxers, there have also been documents from 18th Century reporting crop circles....
I don't believe in the 'Abrahamic God' as he and his works appear in the 'Bumper Book of Fairytales'...............but I think that there may well be 'something' out there in the ether.
I believe in, and have seen, UFO's (not many, though)............although I haven't yet made the leap to connect them with 'Alien civilisations'.
UFO's If you beleive that the big bang theory is correct I don't think UFO's can exist, yet.
Given the size of the universe then the probability of life on other planets must be, however, if they evolved at the same rate, they wouldn't be along the road anymore than we are.
Life as a concept can mean many things so intelligent life as in our image or capacity (or better) may exist but they are not close or we would of heard them.
So even if there was something better evolved than us the would have to have perfected space travel, invented an engine that would be the equal of the Enterprise not only that they would have the abilty to come to Earth undetected.
If they could come to Earth undetected why? We would be so far behind them it would be like us visiting a colony of Chimps.
Our belief in UFO's is an arrogant human conceit, if they were going to come they would have no need to hide.
