Ghosts God and U.f.o's

Do any of you that believe in ghosts believe in ufo's and other "Unexplaned phenomena"? Do you also believe in god, and do you think there is some kind of link?

Dave, our solar system is very young indeed in comparison to other areas of the universe. Therefore, other civilisations could have been in existence and possessed technology that far outstrips anything we could ever dream of long before the earth even existed.

If you think how long humankind has existed then how much we've advanced in one millenium it doesn't seem far fetched that life could have evolved on another planet either slightly earlier or in a slightly different way could be as far ahead as us scientifically as we are of the Romans. Evolution is largely a matter of chance so it could happen quicker elsewhere.

Your comparism to us going to watch chimps, hmm, ever heard of Jane Goodall or watched some of David Attenborough's programmes. We've also sent a spacecraft to the moon and that's just a ball of rock.

I'm not arguing that aliens ARE watching us, just that there's no reason why they couldn't be.

It's possible but improbable

We look at the advances that happened in the 20th Century and suppose that such a rate of technological advance could be sustained.

In point of fact we went from the Wright Brothers to Apollo in what? 60 years but now 50 years later we've not advanced further.

There is a limit to the number of planets where our existance could be noted let alone for them to have decided and managed to get here.

I'd rather expect a signal before a visit! In fact I can quite imagine a situation where we establish a link with an alien civilisation say 20 light years away with neither of us ever having any chance of visiting but each generation sending a message to the next.

It's not as exciting as Star Trek - but I thnk it's much more likely

Then I think you are going to be disappointed on all fronts.
Even assuming physical phenomena could be demonstrated, then the chances of just 'calling up' a ghost to perform for you, is unlikely.
Then even if they managed that you wouldn't believe it but would come up with an alternative way to produce the same affect.
And should they find a way to prove their demonstration then it would be game over for them. It'd be all over the Internet and so no more spooky series, no more income. Hardly in their interest is it ?

No if you want evidence you need to stay away from the TV shows.
