Whatever "Team" you support, do you agree that a Christian who sticks closely to the teachings of the New Testament will not ever become a physical threat to anybody, whereas a Muslim who adheres to Koranic teaching, would applaud the violence we see around the world, the latest in Moscow.?

Your chances of being blown up by the former are nil, but by the latter? Increasing daily!

Worldwide, the first step in thwarting these attacks is to study what the koran actually teaches.

Or is it just coincidence that all over the world, the vast majority of terrorist outrages are perpetrated by muslims?

Keyplus - As a real-world example to explain my above point (should you need one), think about it like this...

Back in the 1960s, The Beatles wrote a string of great records. Thirty years later, in the 1990s, a group called Oasis adopted many riffs and rhythms from The Beatles' catalogue of work.

So, which one of the following statements is more logical and honest?

A) The Beatles were actually Oasis fans and created their work so that Oasis could benefit from it?

or...

B) Oasis copied some elements of the Beatle's work and added some of their own ideas. Therefore Oasis are partial imitators of the Beatles?

Yeah! Oasis! I always thought they were secret muslims!
I won't be going to any of their concerts!
I think I'll use their C.D.'s as coasters.
^^^ I assume your answer is “B” then?

Congratulations!
You win a week's holiday to Tunisia!

err...?

Oh great! Just when they're about to kick off Ra Ra Dan. Nobody complains about the food there for four weeks!
You'll be okay. Ramadan's not until August.

Bon voyage!
boxtops // “Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loves not aggressors.” Al-Qur’an 2:190 //

The problem is in the definition of "those who fight against you". Any criticism of Islam or even creating an image of their prophet is interpreted by many Muslims as an assault upon them and their faith. Hence they do not consider themselves aggressors and can justify their "fight in the way of Allah".

Indeed Beso.

Islam has a culture of victim-hood. It is world-renowned for claiming that it is being threatened and insulted and yet it's adherents seem to have no problem threatening and insulting (and worse) those who disagree or dislike the religion of Islam.
Such is the self-righteous nature of the religious who see everything through the perspective of their own faith.

Everyone in the world should be made to kiss the blarney stone at 4 years of age. Peace on Earth..
Teddy Boy, well I think it does, but nevertheless I like your philosophy. ;o)

Birdie, I think you mean that Islam wasn't created until half a millennium after Jesus' death/resurrection. The Beatles/Oasis - good analogy.

Keyplus, you really have lost the plot. Doesn't your total irrationality worry you?

Theland, //if I am to end my days being blown to bits, I am 99.99999999999 etc certain that it will be a muslim bomber doing the deed.// I agree.
Yeah, explosives are more likely the work of Islamic devotees. Of course that is only if you ignore the illegal war perpetrated by "The Coalition of the Willing" but then they probably won't blow up their own (most of the time).

The God of the Bible was more specific about weapons and the instructions were to hack the enemy to death, with particular attention to carving the unborn child from the mother's belly and killing it as she watched.

Consequently you will notice that machetes were the popular choice in the Rwandan genocides where most report as Christians.
Keyplus // Yes of course [Quran and Bible] were from a common source and that is God. ''

The common source was the same stupid man-made stories passed down orally for generations until they were written down and promoted by the fan clubs.
Sandy, with all due respect I think you make the mistake of endowing Muslim extremists with rationality.

Boxtops, with all due respect to you too, you come across as an apologist. I know you have been greatly influenced by your holidays in North Africa, but that's a long way from Pakistan. Look at Keyplus' posts and tell me he's rational - and he's not alone. There are plenty more like him at home.
There is no doubt that all religions adapt their "holy" book to their own ends and all state that they are following what the book says.

Now you can accuse them of hypocrisy, but nobody can indisputably state they are in contravention as all of these obscure things like Nostradamus Quatrains are cloudy, in meaning.

However I understand that in the Quaran it states that no Muslim may live in a non muslim country. What does that make every "devoute" Muslim in the western world and as such can you believe anything else they say.
////It seems a bit odd to me, that after 9/11, 7/7,........................///

What about before 9/11?

Birdie – Jew or Judaism has more to do with tribe or a person. It is name given to the people who followed a person or belonged to a tribe. In that case followers of Muhammad (pbuh) should be called Mohammadan or Quraishis as his tribe was Quraishi, Hashmi. I may agree with you that if Muslims follow Jesus (pbuh) or Moses (pbuh) then they would be Jews and not Muslims. But there is a problem. I will give you complete comparison between Bible and Quran and you decide if Muslims should be Jews or Jews and Christians should be Muslims.

For somebody who is trying to fry a bit of bacon ready for my lad coming in, monitor the washing machine, and a few other daily tasks due to enforced absence from work, it is impossible for me to devote much time to Keyplus's shopping lists, scholarly though they probably are.
