Hi everyone! Our initial thread has passed its sell-by date, so I'm posting this to keep us showing in Latest Posts. Here's the original thread -

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Sport/Football/Question1560700.html

I'll post a continuation thread around this date each month & ask Ed to sticky them for us.

I hope everyone's muddling along ok through the injury & transfer-strewn melee going on?

The unthinkable is not something we are thinking about at the moment

That's what the Chelsea fans would've been saying - up until tea-time, yesterday, of course:-).
Had nearly £17m left in my bank so have done 4 transfers, bringing in players such as Loris, Alli, De Bruyne and Kane.
Lol, indeed. Without mentioning the on going game before MOTD2 as requested some good call ups there Ken.
Lol Arks it's like The Alamo.
Arks is gonna be flying tonight. (!_*)
Just seen the League table - not much change from last season already,
Robs Robbers still at number one
If the season ended now, I'd be happy with fourth.

First look here now the weekend's over. Well done to the early leaders, I had an absolutely disastrous start!

Red cards, woeful defending & off-form strikers have left me languishing. Some moving & shaking needed before next weekend I feel.

Heigh-ho :-)

Togo... Lol Arks it's like The Alamo. Obviously watching both United's at the time. It certainly were, but MOTD couldn't show the constant onslaught and they never do. reminded me of days gone by... I'm fully aware of only one game in but if Matic' is consistent he could well be the buy of the season.

It really is far too early LIK even when I post the first league will only be three games in (International break) but sets it up for a monthly posing of it.
The weekend approaches and it may be worth noting that some of the recent Prem. League transfers have now been added to the list of available players. I am having a little look at the recent transfer of Jese. Wonder if he will be more Jese James than a big Jese?
Just a little tip. If you try to view the Answerbank League, or any other that you have subscribed to, you will find that it has been split into 3 breakdowns. At present if you leave the "Week" box highlighted no stats are available. You need to click on "Monthly" or "Season" Boxes. It may be useful, to compare who you had in your team when you had good points, later in the season I suppose. But again a bit fiddly unless you open up 2 tabs to view your transfer history and the relative league positions and points haul. Sheesh who could be bothered.
Cheers for the welcome on the other thread .
I'm having abit of a mare , Cahill didn't do me any favours , in fact about 8 of them didn't .
I'm sticking just now but some are on a final warning !
Things can only get better . I'd wish you all good luck for the weekend but think I'm needing it more than you :)
Yes hackate, bit of a curate's egg for me as well. Had I chosen the "right" captains in both teams I would have done better. Now the conundrum.........do I swap the capitos around this weekend and invite the forces of mischief to get them to lose points, whilst my previous ones score mega points. Aarrgghh.

Cahill's 3 match ban is...irksome. He's swapped out, along with 1 midfielder from each side. Early transfers again - oh joy.

If we start counting our chickens before they hatch, they won't lay any eggs in the basket

Lie In, You just know that those 2 midfielders are scoring hat tricks with MoM performances don't you.
Couple of tweeks this morning. Looks like a busy 3 days again if things don't start well. Have you got your captains sorted? Just need to keep my eye on the "news" coming out of Sky Sports for any potential banana skins. Good Luck all.

"In the end, Rosicky initially did well" - Andy Townsend.
I waited until the early KO starting line-up was announced before looking today, not too bad an unknown defender in B. team and a midfielder in the other (So tempted to post The A. Team) but he was my Captain so lucky I did check as I'd already set them up for the weekend.
Another weekend fixture list to ponder and to complicate matters I am up and out very early tomorrow and not back till games are over. So I have had to sort out my suspension and injuries early( like now). Captains chosen and have not got the luxury of waiting for the early match, team selection. Down to Earth with a bump last week after a fairly promising start.

"However people have interpretated that is up to them" - EDDIE MITCHELL
Having just re-read that... blimey you must have selected a *** team. Hope this week-end does you more justice.
Just checked on my lot, Carrot 'n' Booze, and see that i am in 18th position. Not to worry, i'm playing the long game:-) Keeping V Van whatshisface in despite the uncertaintity of his future, it'll be sorted one way or another by next Thursday.
Got 5 players in the Spurs v Clarets match. Could do with a 2-2 result (fiver on @ 33/1 - ever the optimist) with Kane, Alli, Ward and Vokes getting the goals. Wouldn't be in 18th for long were that to happen:-) UTC
Haha Arks, no it was just that every one I selected got booked sent off or injured just about. Or missed a pen and 2 sitters.
