Hopeless this end. Glad I went out and enjoyed the sunshine and sea breeze. A couple in the tv picks but nothing back for that. Ah well said the soul. Ahh soul said the well. Try again tomorrow. Well that's it for another Year Guys. Well done to the jockeys, stable staff, course officials and handlers for putting on a great show. Gosden must be mentioned in despatches, he has turned up every day, turned out immaculately, and given interviews with good grace. Bonus was that there was no bleedin running "fashion commentary" to make us grind our teeth. Big thumbs up to Frankie for doing the flying leap even with an empty winners enclosure. No complaints here...I even had a bit of a bonus today with 5 places and a winner in the ITV7 and a nice place and good winner in the earlier races. Just Threat who owes me from todays picks. Will keep an eye on that.
As the production team were all telling us what their highlights of the week were, I was trying to decide why I had enjoyed this festival much more than others. Okay, I have backed a few more winners and placed horses than I normally do, but that's not the reason. The reason is because, for the first time in I can't remember how long, the racing wasn't interrupted by those prissy, preening, obnoxious fashion gurus. Ought to be behind closed doors every year :-/
