Funny old World. Last week the ref was a stolid good geeza and right in every way, with Russel being regarded as above sanction or criticism. This week a similarly Antipodean Southern official is an imbecile at best, or a cheat at worst, and not a fit and proper person to have the honour of being the ref at a domestic game. I agree with this week's verdict. Last week I was a bad loser for feeling the same.

Last week the referee was wrong because the granny in row Z new he should have given England a penalty at that last scrum.This week this referee was inconsistent no yellow card for Hogg but a yellow card for Russell both made a deliberate knock on.

Togo I got that phrase from Rob Debney’s article in Monday’s times.

The actual quote is, ""The granny in row Z is going “That’s a penalty” here. It’s a clear, obvious decision he had to give and didn’t."" ... and he was right. After avoiding the previous penalties and resetting a scrum twice, a scrum that Scotland were guilty of disrupting twice before in the last minutes, the referee was either "unsighted" or "influencing the result for less than sporting reasons. I am an Englishman who has lived in Wales for more than 50 years but cheered like a native when Russel was binned. What goes around, comes around.
