Women Playing Football
Do you like watching it? Dr Johnson said, "Sir, a woman's preaching is like a dog's walking on his hind legs. It is not done well; but you are surprised to find it done at all!"
Could this apply to football?
Don't please get me wrong, I think there are lots of sports women are good at & a pleasure to watch, golf, swimming, athletics.
It's probably me, but I fail to get excited about it.
Stand back & waits for onslaught.

As regards the way academy footballers are treated, it's all down to the amount of finance a club is willing to provide for their women's teams. Financial support has to be vastly increased. Thankfully the England women are championed by such a high-profile ex-player as Ian Wright. Hopefully more high profile males - both current players and ex players and managers - will lend their weight to the cause.

Ken; //I can't really understand why a comparison between men's football and women's football should be made.//
As has been pointed out previously, some people don't it's 'right' because it involves hard physical contact with other players & also the ball and is for that reason on a par with rugby & worst of all, boxing.

Was it not John Terry who bailed out Chelsea women's team when it was on the verge of folding and berated the FA, and administrators everywhere for not doing enough to promote the womens game? He also called out fellow male pro footballers,Wright included, for not dipping into their own deep pockets to help.

11 am / Perhaps we could also have mixed football games where some of the men could be taught something about decent behaviour! /
Ha Ha did you not hear , well lip read, some of the names the Team GB were calling the German players? Also all the yellow cards? At one point one of the GB players called someone who had tackled her an effing richard and the commentator had to apologise to those who could lip read!

I enjoy watching it more than the men's game.
They tend to get on with the game rather than rolling around on the floor, kicking lumps out of each other, screaming at the ref, and generally being annoying Prima Donnas. The fans are better too. Fewer hooligans.
Anyone who thinks it's 'unladylike' needs to join the rest of us in the 21st century (or even 20th).

Team GB only play in the Olympics. England won the European Championship. Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland have their own teams also.

"German media have taken aim at England by claiming they were robbed in their 2-1 defeat by England in the Euro 2022 final. Bild suggests that Die Nationalelf were denied a clear penalty when the score was still 0-0 after the ball accidentally hit Leah Williamson’s hand in a goalmouth scramble." Express
I didn't watch the match & I certainly don't read the rag, Bild, but is there any basis for this claim?
