I've just looked at the online scoreboard.

There are 6 games out on the course, and Europe are winning all of them.

=0)

I hope there are some more Spa Weekend deals to Celtic Manor when the golf is over.

It's a shame that we'll all be back at work, and miss watching it live.
Lets hope the weather holds for tomorrow,, the atmosphere wont be the same will it???
no it wont, but its a case now of getting the job done
well as long as Europe do the job I will be a happy woman ...
Whacking a little white ball about to finally put it in a hole in the ground then whack it somewhere else BORRRRRRRING. I hope it rains all week, they get fed up and GO HOME.

Celtic Manor were so excited about having the Ryder Cup.

Wasn't it built with the Ryder Cup in mind ???

It's a shame that it will be remembered as "the one that was disrupted by the weather"
it was a given that the weather would be an issue 2 years ago when faldo announced celtic manor as the next event.

celtic manor was approved as the venue 8 years ago and with the fed ex playoffs taking up most of the year, now was the only time they could host it
Thanks for your concern cazzz I do feel a lot better. I'll feel even better when the rain keeps lashing down and they put an old black & white film on to replace the golf.
good for you :)
cazz.....surely now there is a case for playing the Ryder Cup in Spain for the benefit of the players, spectators and golf as a whole?

zabado ...

No ball games make sense if you analyze them in that way.

Nor does skiing ... getting a lift all the way up, just to come down again.

In Lacrosse, there aren't even any touchlines.

You just can't rationalize sports.

But golf is popular enough to have made Tiger W the most heavily sponsored sportsman in the world (well, he WAS, at least).
I agree sqad, Im not sure how the venues are decided, I think the next euro one is at gleneagles which could possibly be another weather dominated event, they do host them in europe though, but they are decided years before they happen.

The essence of most ball games is not the "logic" of the game ...

(how daft is it to put a net at each end of a field, and have 22 men put on short trousers and try to kick the ball into the net!) ...

The essence of ball games is ... team spirit.

That's where the Ryder Cup scores over normal golf.
I'm a member of a prestigious golf club and the annual subscription equates to playing once or twice a week at a municipal or pay and play course. My club does not discriminate against class, race, religion or gender but does have a tradition of expecting members and guests to behave and dress in an appropriate manner.
Regarding holding the Ryder Cup in Wales in October....absolute madness.
I have a silver ticket at my municipal which means for 40 quid a month I can play 5 days a week unlimited on any of the 8 municipal courses in birmingham
