Windows update yesterday

Yesterday evening I discovered my PC Windows 7 could not connect to server and I could not send or receive emails (laptops OK so not server fault but PC this am Firefox and Thunderbird could not connect) Have done a system restore which seems to have resolved now but referred to Windows critical update yesterday could this have been the cause because these updates are automatic could this recur thanks

Unlikely.
I would do a clean up of all Temp folders and retry after a reboot.
You should really determine what connection problem you might have .. looking at properties, etc before using System Restore. Always reboot after updates if poss before SR.

Thanks (once again) for your assistance AlBags Out all day yesterday all is still working OK today will follow your advice if happens again and delet temps anyway
