Opening dbx files Outlook Express in Windows 7

Hi,all I have just updated to W7 Home Premium from Xp, Outlook Express files have changed to dbx, is there a simple download to allow me to open these ?, not to technical if poss.

The files haven't changed to DBX files, they were always DBX files.

You can import them into windows live mail. although the link below is for vista it'll be the same in windows 7, you're only concerned with the second bit (On the computer running Windows Vista, do the following:)

Thanks for quick reply CF I don't want to use Windows live mail as i'm not into all that 'community' stuff. Can I use Windows Mail ? and further please windows mail seems to be 'hidden' how do I access it
Windows live mail is the replacement for outlook express, it's just a mail client just like OE.

You'll probably get the option to install all the other live stuff like messenger and the toolbar etc, you only need the live mail part.

Hi,CF, if your there, I have followed your link and installed windows live mail 'mail section and the 'Outlook -link'. I have added my four email accounts and my 'freeola'(default) is working great, Unfortunately my gmail,yahoomail and gawab, don't connect when I click on Inbox in them ,I just get a message saying nothing in this view, any ideas what I might have done wrong ?

Silly,silly me ( or something a lot stronger ) I cleared the inboxes in my other mail before downloading Windows mail so of course there would be nothing showing !!!!! What a plonker !!!!. Thanks again for you guidance,
