Windowsupdate_8024800A Error

Can anyone help please. My laptop is having trouble getting the windows update and is showing WINDOWSUPDATE error 8024800A. Can anyone advise what this means, what the problem is and how I can correct it to get the updates. I might need a bit of guidance and not very techie so layman terms would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. (do you need any information from me that might assist you to assist me)?

Oh, your OS would help ie Windows XP or Vista etc.

Thank you I will give this a try and let you know. according to sticker on my laptop I've got windows7 .. assume this is ok for the link you gave, I'll be back soon after trying it.

Hi WyeDyed, thanks again. I'm being a right div here but I would appreciate a little more advice. I clicked on the start button (I'm the only user on the laptop,no one else uses it or registered on it). So where do I find the cmd or start as admin... sorry not a good start to this. Btw I'm using the 'answer' on the MS Support microsoft community, third one down by user ocbXL (assume thats the one I should be using). Thanks again, appreciate your help.
