Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

Mightily quiet in here folks!
Jno hope OH is comfy. I cut down my omaprazol to one a day and now have awful heartburn and feel sick, might be because I've been foraging in cupboards to find winter clothes. I found a sky Box! Had to do some bank transactions for the child, and one had to be done by 10.30. It involved two banks, waiting 40 mins in first bank, then got to second bank at 10am. Wasn't seen until 10.45 where I was abruptly old that I was too late, so I abruptly told her that I wasn't moving until it had been sorted. She sorted it! Cheek! There is nothing worse than a female Spanish jobsworth! I dread them! Had a well deserved coffee but it was freezing sitting outside so had to go inside which has only been known once in a thunderstorm when road was flooded! My world is turning upside down.

lovely sunny day out there, though quite chilly. OH is recuperating nicely, with some assistance from jno jnr, who has a day off. I have beena cross town at a travel trade show collecting a bagful of brochures. I left when the bag was full.

I'm pleased your OH is home and hopefully recovering well jno. Belated birthday wishes for jnr. I don't like to dwell on the ages of my two, I've told them to lie.

Fireworks were very long and loud on Saturday, I got thoroughly fed up of them. Thankfully not quite as bad last night but I can hear some now. There were some terrible firework incidents in the Derby area over the weekend.

I've been making the most of the shiny days, apparently it's going to rain tomorrow :(
Gave the kitchen a good spring clean yesterday.... thought it would save me doing it next March :) ...and shopped and cleared leaves today. There's still quite a lot to come off.

Yes shaney, the aches n pains have been mounting and I've had a terrible pain in my left jaw. I've been slapping on the ibu gel. I walk round with a menthol haze rising from me :)

We've dropped 12° from 22° to 10° and my feet are cold and I'm in bed. Eastenders is boring.

Yes very cold .It was -2C here first thing this morning and frosty.
Reel feel of 2C atm but it was a lovely day in spite of the cold. A proper crisp autumn day with brilliant sunshine.
We had a hell of a lot of fireworks last night going off over the road in the little park.Really noisy too and went on for ages until the police arrived and told them to clear off.It looked like a load of youngsters mucking around.Somebody must have complained. I could hear the poor pooch next door howling.
Hope you're all ok though and that your OH is getting on alright Jno.
I know the feeling Robinia. I've had a hwb shoved down the back of my trousers all day.I've got two and as soon as one loses it's heat I fill up the other one.I'll have a corned beef back soon.

Pinterest. Is it taking over the entire interweb? All *** google roads lead to freakin' Pinterest. No matter what I search for I'm almost always offered Pinterest. P off!

Gloomy and cold here too but no rain as yet.
Lol Robinia ...I was looking for a knitting pattern recently and I kept getting sent there and of course it's mostly american patterns knitted on circular needles.
Nothing to report either. Dull days before Christmas as mother used to say.Hope you're all ok though.

Brrr. My nose is cold and runny but that's not unusual. Deep cleaned and steamed bedroom again today. Bit sunny if cold and most things got dry.

Robi so agree. I hate Pinterest. I even get emails from them and I've unsubscribed many a time. I Google hair cuts and up comes Pinterest. I could scream.
Made Moroccan in a taking and it was really nice with couscous. I love these dark evenings and nights. We even had to light the fire tonight. Bedroom all totally clean and steamed, black sheets on. Im bathed and hairwashed. House tidy. Love it.

I find Pinterest useful but its too full of broken links or links that end at instagram pictures which is useless if you want to buy something or want a recipe. Today has been wet and miserable and for some reason the dogs have been expecting trouble so very jumpy. They have finally settled down so hopefully a quiet night and a better day tomorrow. Its not just the nights of fireworks its the stress that continues for days afterwards. Moan whine complain.

well, at least it's not people vomiting on the carpet, neti, OH is past that stage and well on the road to recovery touch wood. Another dull, cool day here, but I suppose it's autumn. You don't get a lot of mellow fruitfulness in autumn, though, whatever the poets say. You just get wet.

Bright and chilly here and plenty of mellow fruitfulness. Poor dogs are still having phases of thinking that the dreadful noise will start again and this despite having had stronger meds this year. Tortoises still expecting to be fed....I foresee having to give them christmas dinner this year.

Not all that warm here either but it's a bright day.
In the local newspaper they predict wintery showers for the weekend in the north and east of the county.I hope this doesn't mean snowy sleety stuff.

we are back to damp mildness here and I have ordered yet more tortoise food from ocado. In other news, my knee has gone ping for the first time in years. I am swearing a lot which may not speed healing but is free and a healthy choice.
