Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

Morning. We are in the middle of a thunderstorm and I have lines of washing hanging out but cba to get it in.
What food do tortoises eat. I thought it was lettuce and tomatoes.
My knee and ankle keep giving way with no warning and I have hurt my shoulder. It feels very much like the other one which had to be operated on. Aches continually and I can't raise it. I cba to go through all that again.

morning all, its wet again here, back to cold tomorrow. Neti, a diet of lettuce and tomatoes and nothing else is very bad for tortoises. ideally they live on a selection of garden weeds and plants but when they are big and its the end of the year or a bad summer then this has to be supplemented with bought stuff. Mine have chicory, lambs lettuce, rocket and a very little lettuce and cucumber for the water content. Whatever they have, its about a packet a day of the main food. Knee is mending fast so that's good. Ironing today :(

ooh, it's going to be colder than Moscow today, oop north anyway. Just cool and damp down here. I keep thinking about hibernating in my shell but I always seem to wake up after 6 hours.

Wasn't so cold today. In fact had to remove vest in car on the way to shops. Then I changed clothes and we walked to village to various bars for a few drinks and tapas. Home now. He ate and promptly fell asleep. I did loads of household chores even sweeping the carpet and not using the vacuum so as not to waken him!! Why??

I've just had a 2nd echinese takeaway. I wasn't hungry just greedy, so saved some for tomorrow.

It's a grim old day here.Sloshing with rain with hail chucked in the mix just to vary things a bit and a real feel of minus 2C.I don't know where I don't ache.However,hope you're all ok and muddling along.

my legs realfeel about 2 but the rest's not too bad. I woke up under the electric blanket sweltering this morning, but there's no telling what the temperature's going to be these days. We went to dinner with some friends last night and spent the evening discussing sexual harassment, which seems to be the dinner party topic of choice these days. No conclusions were reached so I can't pass on any flashes of communal wisdom.

No need jno. I guess some of us suffered from it back in the day. Took it for granted and learned to slap them down.
Had a nice day lunchtime , drinks and nibbles with long standing friends. Then we escaped and went for lovely grilled meat lunch. Then home to warm on a and the fire and the cat.
Glad OH is well enough to socialise.

Hi everyone..I have sprayed, hovered and steamed the whole house even though I know there is nothing there but feel that anything is now gone!! It is peeing down with rain but have used the drier and dried 3 loads!! He'll go mad!!
How are you all? I have started on Xmas shopping as have to post it. But family is no so extended I only do 2 sisters and younger bro.

hello all. Dogs are sleeping off their stress today I think. They are restless and worried if I try to do anything but immediately I sit down they fall asleep. Hopefully all the idiots have now let off their fireworks and we will all get some peace. Sorry about the whinging, its taking over my life. Jno I am glad to hear that OH is out on the razz once more. Waving to everyone else. Neti my steamer just died so I am tossing up which one to replace it with.

Woofy I got a hand one and a carpet/floor one from Lidl. They are good and so easy. I do have a polti steamer in the storeroom but it terrifies me, I hate being in a room with the steamer between me and the door ( as it had to be) I thought it would blow and so could get out. My lidl one holds plenty for my small house . I even steamed the mattress with the floor one with a clean material bit, it was much easier.

OH is waiting to see the doctor, as the kidney infection has flared up again and obviously needs more antibiotics. But the stomach is steadily improving, I am assured. I thought it had got foggy here, but it's just the neighbours (who do not know the London laws about fires) burning up garden rubbish. At least, I hope there are no unwanted spouses or creditors in the flames. It does look proper autumnal, anyway.

Jno I am glad to hear that stomach is improving but it must be a worry for you. Neti, its a trek for me to get to lidl and the parking is dire when you get there so I rarely go. Apparently we are going to get one in my local village but as its going to be built on around a quarter of the parking, I don't think its a blessing....especially as the plan is that it will bring more shoppers to the village!
