Monitor On Stand-By

My desk top monitor is set to go into stand-by mode after 5 mins of inactivity. However, it keeps coming back on randomly for 5 mins. every now and then, although i am nowhere near it.--is this a normal thing??
The PC itself is set to go to sleep after 5 hours. Does the 5 hours not start until the monitor has stopped acting up?

The monitor will 'wake up' from stand-by if you move the mouse 'ever so slightly'. Is there anything near the mouse unit that could be causing it to vibrate / move?

Hi Pinkyboyid---nothing near the table at all , just sat the other side of the lounge watching TV and noticing the monitor coming back on every now and again.!!

Some evenings it goes off every 5 mins. then back on for 5 mins.----whereas other evenings it stays off until sleep mode kicks in!!!
