Can anyone help a complete computer idiot ?
I always download a couple of crosswords from the web which are in Pdf format. When I try to do this today my computer freezes ,they won't load and I have to log off and restart. The Adobe reader thingy is obviously not working . Tried a systems restore but that doesn't do anything either .I have no idea how to download another reader and am missing my Spectator crossword fix !
We use Firefox .
Any ideas ..thank you .

morning all, yes, once you find a good hairdresser stick like glue!!
I am fortunate in that the place I go to is owned by a very traditional lady who trains for the local college. She is lovely to the girls, treats them very well and she is a tough trainer. They learn manners as well as a high standard of hairdressing AND they learn to listen to what the client wants AND make sensible suggestions.
Recently my usual lady went off on mat leave. She told me who could take on another regular client and I had a choice of two. I asked her who I should go with and she said well either but I think xxxx would suit your needs better and she was dead right.
I am wittering because DH has taken out his motorbike for a short spin for the first time in more than a year. He was very sensible, had it out of the garage yesterday and moved it around to be sure that he could handle it and I m sure he will be fine, he is amazingly much much better.....but still....
Thinking of you today Robi and Shaney and hope that you and your families are okay and hoping that Vinny isn't too badly hung over. Neti try glucosamine for your hip, it sorted mine a treat....failing that sangria :-)
Wow woofy, there I was imagining DH all tucked up in bed sighing, and there he is flying around the countryside, well no more sympathy for him!! It's good news though, he reallys is improving, I am so glad!

Now let's hope that mr s is getting on fine and will return to the bosom of the biddies soon! Thinking of you both shaney!

Hello lovely folks
Mr S is still in hospital .Waiting to see the consultant for the verdict .He had an op yesterday and I spent most of the day up there . He seems alright ,no pain and when he came round was quite cheerful and hungry ,so ordered cheese and pickle sandwich :)
I'm just waiting for a call to say we can go and collect him which will probably be after lunch now .
In the meantime thank you all for your concern .I'll be back later to peruse and comment :) I've only had a quick skim . Hope you and yours are all OK . xxx
Nice to hear from you Shaney. All the best for today xxx You will feel better once you know the score and Mr S. can get some appropriate treatment.

Robi, I am sorry. I keep meaning to mention your family and then not doing it. I do feel for you. A nice long holiday perhaps next year for you? Much love xxx
Just come in for a snack & it's lovely to see that it's so far so good shaney...hope it's good news from now on & they sort mr s out toot sweet.
And good for Mr W too but not so good for your nerves woofy, haha. Men! they like to keep us biting our nails.

I've got a good (mobile) hairdresser now, I wouldn't say she's the very best but she does a good enough job for the money, salons are so expensive + travel etc so I'm sticking with her for now...better the devil you know & all that.
Lottie I think I'll buy a tent & go & camp on Wooly beach...I can hang me bloomers on the flag poles & you'll all be able to see 'em on the webcam :o)

Ah another of my friends has died, he was the one who didn't get on Big Brother, which is just as well now!!!!
....and he was my hairdresser for ages, very good too!
Afternoons gang. Dreamt about the biddies & hippies tonight, I think you were all in it one way or another but particularly you Shaney and Mr S. Hang on in there xx

So sorry to hear that, Neti. Haven't read the article yet but I will.

Oh I remember one time I wanted my hair short but not THAT short. When I woke up the morning after I caught my shadow on the wall just as I got out of bed and I cried.

Woofy have you seen those motorbikes with pedals for kids, they're called Hardly Dangerous. One word for you: Swap. I'll say no more;-)

Okay Robi will you use pegs the next time you fly your knickers from a flag pole, puh-leez try to remember I like to keep my window open and there is quite a wind and things come flying you know. Here. I believe these are yours (puny behind hrmpf), now would you KINDLY deliver me of your... items... http://i27.tinypic.com/1zb40u0.jpg
Sorry to hear that Neti. He looks like a great character.
DH is back, tired but in one piece and grinning. Delighted to hear that Mr S is in one piece too.
Got to get lunch going
laters
That ride has probably done him far more good than all the medicine in the world. Now make him sit down quietly and rest!!!
What will happen to Chupito now Neti?
No idea , he is such a sweet dog,
allister used to dye the end of his tail for parties. Someone will take him, not sure if he's here or in London. Allister adored him. They are bringing Allister's body back to Ibiza (or maybe his ashes) for a service. He was a bit of a wally, but he'd lived and was such a character and a diva!!!!!
A hair salon couple of blocks away from here have a dog - don't know the breed but it's a tiny sort with curls - who is always dyed apricot. He sits on the pavement outside the salon and stares at the dog that sits outside the sock shop next door. I never know if they're in love or enemies, they've both been there for ten years or so but I don't think they know what they are, they just like to keep track of what the other one is doing:)
Talking about dogs, I went out for a walk this morning and a little dog came running up to me (looked like a staffy bull type) anyway he seemed friendly and i said sit which it did. I found a mobile number on his collar and rang it. The lady owner was travelling in her car and said she would ring her husband. Anyway to cut a long story short I managed to walk him back to his home by holding his collar which was a few streets away. The lady's son was in to receive him. His name was Tig! That was my good deed for the day,
Kit, about the boats on the canal yeaterday, My cousin has a boat called Gecko and we went on it for a chat and some coffee. They said next time that they would arrange for us to go for a little trip in it.
The percussion link was brilliant Vin, how do you find stuff like that?
Hope all's well when you go to fetch Mr S. Shaney.
Thinking about you too Robi.
I see you mastered cropping Neti. I usually copy the photo then go into gallery and click on fix and crop it from there.
Think I might just put my telly on tonight for the first time for ages and watch that modern ~Sherlock Holmes thing on BBC 1.
Have a good rest of the day biddy friends
see yer later 'gater(s)
Can't crop photos on FB though jude, I did pass one to paint and cropped it and thought I had done well, but when it was my profile piccy it was the size of a microdot, so gave up!
Heaven's sake biddies install PhotoScape, it's free, it doesn't take up much space on your puta, it's self-explanatory, very biddy friendly, I love it http://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/index.php

Ouch Jude you must be walking like a tri-square after having walked that dog home:)
Oh I see what you mean Neti. Didn't realise that's what you wanted to do.
That photoscape wouldn't install, I'll try tomorrow.
glad to hear husbands are perking up, good luck to all. Just come back from Essex BBQ and as usual the promised rain never happened, which was nice.

Well ,he's home and sitting on a cushion :)
They've removed polyps ,piles and repaired the fissure but ...they've also taken biopsies to be examined .The consultant didn't say if there was anything untoward .Obviously he won't know until he gets the results of the biopsies . He didn't seem pessimistic .The district nurse is coming tomorrow to look at the dressings etc .He may have to have more investigative stuff done depending on the results . His blood tests ,BP ,ECG ,etc were all OK .
So I'm still in limbo really . It's the sudden weight loss that's the worrying factor for me .

Sorry about your friend Neti ,he sounds like a real character .

Hair ..I go along the road here .Cut wash and dry ,nine quid ! She's a lovely girl and always does it how I want it . As long as it's cut Ok I'm happy. I can faff with it and colour it myself .

I haven't wizzed round the House of Commons yet Jno ,but have saved it to peruse later Looks interesting .
.
Hope you are Ok Robinia :) The grass isn't always greener .Hang on in pet xx
Hope Mr Woofie is ok ...
Have I missed anyone ? Jude ,Vinny ,Lofty ,Dolly and Sveedie ...love to you all.

Coast is on tonight ..Neil Oliver ......hold me back :)
