Can anyone help a complete computer idiot ?
I always download a couple of crosswords from the web which are in Pdf format. When I try to do this today my computer freezes ,they won't load and I have to log off and restart. The Adobe reader thingy is obviously not working . Tried a systems restore but that doesn't do anything either .I have no idea how to download another reader and am missing my Spectator crossword fix !
We use Firefox .
Any ideas ..thank you .

I think I should fetch some supplies, I've had no cake since last week & I'm getting the DT's...I see they've resurrected yesterday's debate in cb, why can't they just leave it?...

Am sitting here feeling so sad listening to Luther Van Dross. My father was a wonderful dancer and I used to ballroom dance with him. (Both parents were brilliant dancers). Dad and I were ideal partners and I so loved dancing with him. He could 'lead' and I could do almost anything, even complex things just by following him. I lost him when I was 30. My lovely tall handsome, intelligent and above all my wonderful understanding Dad. Bless you. I literally have tears in my eyes.
Good morning by the way Robbie (et al).
I sat down with a cup of tea earlier and thought I would just watch BBC breakfast for a while and lo and behold the first thing I see is Gorleston Beach, but Shaney wasn't about. In fact no one was about, the beach was empty. Still it was only about 8.30am.
Off out shortly, have some errands, some friends to see and a load of shopping to do. It's so muggy - I would rather just stay inside and read!!
P.S. I want some wristwarmers!! And I want them stripey, glittery, ultra soft. In fact I want the best wristwarmers known to man in various shades of pink and purple please with sequins, flowers, diamonds, rubies, you name it ......................... I want it....................... ;o)
xx

Morning all, when I was small I used to stand on Dad's feet and we danced. I so loved my Dad!
Computer shop has just phoned, computer is b*ggered but he has replaced all the innards (well, I don't know what they are, motherboards etc!!) but all photos are lost. I have some saved on a disc but not recent ones. I do hope my Baltic hols are saved. So when I get it back, I'll be asking you to send me photos, ie Vinny's warhol one of us all etc.
Rubix has been suspended!!

Oh, I forgot. After watching Gorleston there was an interview with Carlos Acosta with snippets of his work. I didn't realise he was also an author. What a man. Intelligent, good humoured, talented, good looking and last, but not least, what a body...........!!! phew............

oh dear, neti, not all the photos from the spring fete and Lottie dancing the hokey cokey with Barry Manilow? How dreadful. Are you absolutely sure they can't be rescued? They're often lurking on the hard drive somewhere. Anyway, I have an external hard drive, about the size of a paperback; you just plug it in from time to time and copy everything on to it. It seems to have about ten times as much memory as the computer, too.
Darn right I wouldn't dare!;-) Afternoon all. That was a lovely song, Shaney. I was gonna say I never danced with my Dad but Netis post reminded me I did use to stand on his feet as a child and he'd dance me. When we met again in later years he was an ill man and his condition would have been severely aggravated had I stood on his feet ha ha.
Remember jno's article the other day with the road workers who painted around the dead... squirrel, was it, and how I said That could have happened in Sweden? Well here's what happened yesterday:
After my errands downtown I wanted to eat at one of my fav veggie places downtown. I know the kitchen closes at seven so I was there ten minutes in advance, only to be greeted by a "The kitchen is closing right now, we're allowed to do that when there are few customers". Okay. So I ask can I get a take-away and they say yes. While they're preparing the doggy bag, another customer - who's already seated and eating - asks at what time do they close. Eight o'clock, for those already served. Oh, says I, but then it would be all right if I sit here and eat my take-away? Yes. Well can I borrow your cutlery then? Sure. Great. Might I even borrow a plate? Yes. Might you even actually put my take-away food on that plate out in the kitchen, rather than I do it at the table? Why of course. And the food was hot, and the price was the same... How absurd. Very Sweden. Tasted great, though, and they did walk around with confuddled faces after that, trying to understand their own logic no doubt.
I'll take your collective wristwarmer orders the next time I go into a wristwarmer period:) Not bad Nutini - who does he (his voice) remind me of?
What happened with Mr Cube?

last I saw of Mr Cube he was suspended, though I don't why. I am still not sure who he is, though he's obviously someone who's been here before (in fact he said so somewhere). But as shaney says he doesn't squiggle, and actually he behaves differently.
Making that deduction seems to be the highlight of my day so far. Maybe a cat will walk across the garden and give me something else to think about.
