Adware problem
4 Answers
Firstly can I say that Im a novice so anything explained needs to be in simpleton terms. Whats happened is this. My grandson downloaded some 'cheats' for a DS game that he plays. Shortly afterwards my screensaver disappeared leaving me with a clear blue screen and a bright yellow box in the middle saying something about Adware and Spyware and how I need to get subscription for some antivirus clean up. I am subscribed to MaCaffee which says I have no problems. But if I have no problems then where has my screensaver gone and why cant i get rid of this spyware ad? any help would be greatly appreciated? Ive uninstalled the cheats programme.

If ACT's advice doesnt do it, this has proven very effective against XP Anti-Virus

Thank you so much for your suggestions and much to my amazement (after trying so many things) it was the suggestion from Mac70 that worked miracles. After downloading it yesterday evening it scanned all night long and I went to bed last night leaving it to do its thing. Got up this morning to find my computer working better than it ever has before and the spyware/adware pop up completely gone. Well impressed. Thanks to both of you though for taking the time to help. I would have been lost without it. PS, Im beginning to come round to the idea of infanticide (I did have to look the word up in the dictionary to see what it meant ). Grandson is now barred from using the computer, especially after seeing all the porno sites he'd downloaded, (he's just had his 10th birthday!)
