Saving to external drive

I am trying to save some home video movie from cd to external hd but when I have saved it it doesn't show the different titles or chapters like it does on my laptop, am I doing something wrong?

Which software are you using that displays the titles and chapters?

It sounds like each video file has its own "configuration" file that contains additional information which might not have been copied to the external drive.

Try turning on hidden files and folders (let me know which version of Windows you have if you don't know how to do it) and seeing if there are hidden files that you can also copy across.

I am using vista
In Vista, click on the Organize button at the top of any folder, and then select “Folder and Search Options” from the menu.

Click the View tab, and then you should select “Show hidden files and folders” in the list.

Just select that, and click OK.
