OH had a video chat with the oncology people yesterday and asked when the treatment would be finished. They said, basically, never. It's keeping the tumour in check (apparently it can't just be removed surgically, it's somewhere too tricky for that) and should continue to do so for however long.
So that would be goodish news; the downside is that the chemo is exhausting and OH spends half the time in bed during treatment weeks (and can't go anywhere on the "good" weeks because of bad feet and Covid restrictions).
No prospect of a return to normal life there. Still, we'll battle on.
pretty much what I was expecting, though. Unless the tumour was really in retreat, which it didn't seem to be, then carrying on seemed to be the obvious choice. There was a much worse possible conclusion, and we didn't get that, though some day we may.
Hello all
Sorry to hear your sad news Neti.
That's a Catch 22 situation Jno and must be very tiring for you both.
Bad enough in normal circs.Keep your chins up both of you xx
Not much doing here. Very windy out there but sunny in parts.
I've sat up to post this as by the time tomorrow rolls around I'll probably have forgotten what day it is such is the state of my locked down brain these days so ....
First day if vaccinations today and Spain has cancelled all the AZ ones. Doesnt affect us but will delay us all.
Lovely sunny day and first day the bars can open their terraces so I went out for my long awaited coffee. Very socially distanced but very enjoyable.
thank you all! But no ... stayed indoors all day, as most days. But apparently Ophelia laughed out loud for the first time! It was when she was having a bath - she loves baths. She is possibly part-mermaid.
My daughter was the same. Wven when I the womb she moved a lot when I was in the bath. Shes not so fond of water now though!
Sister had had her 2nd Pfizer vaccine today with a week to go before the 12 weeks. Not sure if Spain is goj g ahead with jabs or not now they wont use the AZ one. And we are allowing German tourists here for Easter and us with no jabs!
I've started spring cleaning. I've scrubbed hija's carpet bot don't think it done much good. Washed mother's nets on the front door, they must be 45 yrs old at least!!
Lovely weather but have stayed home.
good grief, the North Circular was solid today, on all four journeys. It can't just have been school runs resuming, there were hardly any kids in the cars in the jams. Have people suddenly started going to work again or something?
that's all I could think of. The North Circular's not normally that busy except at rush hour but maybe there's a huge build-up of unpaid visits to get through. As far as I could see of other drivers, they weren't particularly parent-age, but perhaps they were visiting people who were.
Evening all. What disgustingly wet and stormy 2 days we have had. We were hoping to have coffee and lunch out but terraces are closed due to the wet and inside is prohibited. So we went to Ibiza and did some shopping
Got a new blind for kitchen door. I also got a dark blue denim jacket (good old lidl)and lots of food. Some nice lamb chops from lidl as last time they were nice. Mr N has made a lovely quiche cheese and bacon and my weekly sponge cake. Rain seems to have stopped sp hopefully I can do some washing tomorrow! Someone here has had a bad reaction from the AZ from last week before they stopped and they were hoping to start again this Wednesday . I'll just sit here and wait...
Hope you are all ok and jnos OH is feeling alright and shaney bron is ok and woofys pup!!
Any news of Robi?
no no sign of Robi I hope she is ok. Cold dry and grey here. We are fine thanks. Sis arrives tomorrow, she satys until easter then rushes home again to be in the right place for her second vac. I am really sorry for the way things are going in europe with the vacs, It must be worrying.
KBO everyone
that was nice, Ophelia dropped by for lunch. She even brought some oven-ready homemade lasagne to feed her parents and grandparents with. She smiled and gurgled a bit, but no crying.
