Have you 'flattened' the final image?
Question Author
That was quick were you looking over my shoulder? Yes I have!! Thanks
What format did you save the flattened file as? Jpeg, png, tif?
Question Author
Jpeg!!
Are you getting an error message re the non printing? Could the file actually be ok but huge in size? (which would possibly take ages to print).
Yes, a layer can be unlocked, just click and drag the padlock icon down into the dustbin.
If you have flattened the layers and saved them as a jpeg, the image should print ok.

Hi Snags I'm getting no messages to say there's an error just no reaction with the printer.I've only set it for a 6"x4" print.
AP I'll give that a try, thanks to you both!!
Is your printer actually turned on ;-p
Question Author
ps I can't find the dustbin
Little dustbin icon at the bottom right of the Layers window (well it is in Photoshop on a Mac).
Ok then, just double click the locked layer and give it a name (eg 'layer 1') that should make the padlock icon disappear.

Thanks everyone.....been away from the pc for a while,I've tried all suggestions with no success.Any wayout ideas that might work,no I won't try that.
I think the issue must lie with your printer setup, perhaps the driver software needs to be re-installed.

I don't think that is the problem as I have played around with another of the Royal wedding photos and was able to print it, but for the life of me I can't see what I have done differently with this particuler one. Thanks!
Try this: copy your existing photo into another new file and resave with a different name...
