Which model of netgear ??

- and what's the problem - can your laptop 'see' the wifi but not connect, or is there no wifi being broadcast?

It says on the back 54Mbps Wireless ADSL Modern Router DG834Gv3
I'm working from a slightly different netgear router, so apologies if anything is not quite the same :

On a wired connection (from your PC or laptop) log in to your router :

http://192.168.0.1/start.htm

the username is admin
the password is password

{unless you have changed them}

Go to the wireless setting page from the menu (usually on the left of the first page)

Check that

Enable Wireless Access Point
Allow Broadcast of Name (SSID)

are both ticked

you should also see the SSID (network name) and password - if they are not already set then you need to fill the fields in with your chosen SSID and password - if you are given a choice of 'security options' then pick WPA2.

Once you have enabled wifi and know the SSID then you should be able to see your network from the iPad and connect using the Password.
