Check out the Epson range, excellent printers and the inks aren't too expensive.
I have the same and no problems.but mine was 29 99 from argos complete with ink. And the inks for HP are reasonable compared to some other printers.

thank you for your help i have a canon pixma mp 695 it was quite expensive but photos are rubbish and ink are dear and dont last 5 mins
It is some time since I bought a printer but, as far as I know, Epson still have a good reputation.
Branded ink is expensive but I get compatible ink from local 'Cartridge World' franchise shop. These are about half the branded price and work OK for me. Even cheaper if you buy online.
The paper makes an enormous difference to the sharpness, and the printing process will use up your toner very quickly. Why not get it done via a Boots, Asda or tesco photo outlet - or even online?
