Hiya, I used to do this with my Lexmark printer too, my dad ended up using a stanley knife to get the lids off =/  if you just slide it along the edges it should just flip off. Failing that anything thin and metal.. maybe a very flat screwdriver or something. Be careful though obviously etc etc! :)

Yes I used to do this too, then stick it down with selotape, If it's the refills with ink and syringe your using, I found it wasn't very successfull :-(. Lexmark cartridges are sooo expensive, it actually works out cheaper if you buy a new Lexmark printer that comes with new cartridges!!! crazy!! I have one of these household products catalogues left at the door then picked up. They are now stocking cartridges that fit Lexmark at fraction of price. will get back to you soon with their site :-)

too messy and you risk cutting your thumb off...try www.bigink.co.uk. very reasonable cartridges without buying new printers
