Is there such a thing as an offline app similar to Google Earth or Google Sky on Android? We're planning a trip to Edinburgh and hubby has what I suspect are unrealistic expectations at to what his Galaxy Tab 3 can do. I have no idea what to look for, so if anyone can at least point me in the right direction, that would be great.
I would suggest a bus trip on the double decker tourist bus to show you what is around, get your bearings and you can get on and off as wanted. We really enjoyed it and found it very useful, and you can then go and do what you want.
Perhaps I should explain myself better - I'm not sure if what hubby wants is possible - he wants an offline app like google sky so that as he walks around Edinburgh (or we sit down having coffee) he can point his tablet at the street so that nearby buildings can be identified.
We've got the tablet for Christmas and aren't familiar with using one. My eldest son assured me it's user friendly - but Android haven't met Mt Taichiperson!
You can see all the available android apps here https://play.google.com/store/apps (note that there is a categories button near the top) and if you log in there then selecting to install an app will send it to your phone.
Bibblebub - yes, I got that far. I've downloaded an offline map that I think will do for me. Whether my OH will agree that it's sufficient......... who knows!
