Be Very Careful On Facebook Fall Out With A Friend Says Hes Kept All My Emails

Hi there over the last year I have been having a close friendship with somebody I met on facebook. It became very intense with regular phone calls sometimes in the middle of the night long emails and texts just recently he told me he has been keeping all my emails. I may have been a bit naive because I told him everything about myself church family etc and my feelings and opinions. Over the last few weeks we have not been getting on and he can be quite sharp and hard about things and quite hurtful he is also full of self pity and I got to the end of my tether last night and slammed the phone down on him. Anyway after a long think about things I decided to email him and suggest we go our seperate ways, he lives 240 miles away and we have never met. Do you think I have anything to worry about?

OP, I am very wary of facebook... I only have Family and friends on there... with two exceptions of folk I met on here. both lovely folk and trustworthy.

The fella you accepted sounds a nob, but if you have being speaking to him then you know that already.

when I was being stalked by an unwanted ex, I actually changed my name on FB, everyone I wanted to know, knew it, but people who are not friends just couldn't find me. Has worked well. I changed all my settings to friends only etc.

It is how you use it. Personally, i don't. I keep in touch with my friends anyway, so don't see the need. It makes no difference where you met him though. He is a long way away too - just be careful who you give your address to, in future x

I'm no fan of FB but it is innocent here, it's just the way you met and has no control over what you e-mail. We all probably e-mail stuff without realising the consequences. Did you know employers have every right to look at your work e-mail account?

TWR, the point I'm making is that FB is the tool that some bullies use to make other people's lives a misery. You cannot hold FB responsible for that, the entire blame lies with the bullies.

Anyway, back to gordie's problem. I wouldn't worry about him knowing your address. Is he likely to bother making the 240 mile trip to see you?

emails are automatically saved in facebook - you presumably still have all his too - unless you have deleted them.

why have you fallen out? is there any reason why he might want revenge or just to upset you?

SP, Countless times I have posted disgust at FB for allowing the Bullying to go on, they can stop it but revenue seems more important than people lives, I do take your point.

If someone is getting bullied via facebook there is a deactivate option or a blocking option.
