Hi i have a family pc, which my dad has set up a e-mail account, now i want a e-mail account but can only have an account through his name e.g

why cannot have my own with out the @ if so how do i do this, i have tried and tried everytime it does not happen.

Freeserve allocate usernames to all their customers so they can connect to the net and also receive email. The username is used to create the email address for that customer as well. You will not be able to just create an email address the way you want to without having created an individual account for yourself with Freeserve - which will mean you have to pay a monthly charge etc.

This is why you can only create "sub" email addresses under your dads current primary address.

Most if not all ISP's operate like this.

bt doesn't. We have one account, pay one monthly fee but have our own separate email addresses, eg soanso@btinternet with no mention of the account holder's primary ID. If I remember rightly, aol don't either.

You could get a free hotmail account without your dad's name on it but I don't know how old you are and if you would need parental permission
