My partner wants to use a mosaic he has made as wallpaper for his V3 (don't ask!), after searching through chat forums we found somewhere to download 'mobile phone tools' which apparently was needed. However when connecting the V3 to the pc it will not recognise it.  Since then we have searched for a driver for the V3 but without success.  Any help would be appreciated.

Didn't you get a disc with the phone to connect to the pc?, I certainly got one with mine. If you have, this has all the relevant tools to do the job.

If all you want to do is put a picture on your phone, then don't bother with the manufacturer's software (its generally pap).  Get a bluetooth dongle for your computer, if you haven't already, and use the Windows way fo doing things.

My answers to this question:

are a generic way of carrying out the transfer of any file type to any bluetooth phone.

Remember that most of these types of digital devices that have a memory (eg mobile phone, digital camera, mp3 player) are all data-sticks with add-ons.  You can use any of them to transfer any file type from one computer to another.  Although you can't open a Word document on an mp3 player or a camera, you can put it on them and transfer it to another PC.  PDAs are the most integrated devices as most of them are a PC/phone/camera/mp3-player combined.

Thank you both .... he bought it in the States and it didn't come with any software.  I will enjoy telling him that he needs a dongle !
