After unsuccessfully trying to adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad on my laptop (with Chris's kind assistance) I've decided to invest in a mouse.

Are they all much the same, or has anyone got any recommendations please?

Thanks

>>>Just realised....I haven't got a mouse mat

You don't need a mouse mat with an optical mouse! (As long as your work surface is reasonably smooth it will work perfectly; I've not used a mouse mat for about a decade!)
I use a placemat as a mousepad

@psybbo.....my placemats are wicker, lol!

Just had a thought,...the mouse will have to be on the same surface as the lappy,...yeah? Only I use it on a computer desk, but at the very edge of the right, cos that's where my knees go. I have a set of drawers about 6" (I'm not metric either, lol!) lower than desk to the right...will that work?

As long as the surface is flat (and not, for example, a wooden surface full of knot holes) it will be fine.
I've got one you can have for free Bath :0?
Sheba, set a couple of books or anything to bring the height of the drawers up to the level of the laptop maybe phone directories.

@Chris.....oh yeah, I've got a placemat I can use (with a rather nice Rennie Mackintosh design on it). ;)

Yo Lina! Yep, I know you have....did the traps work then? ;)

Lol, no gadget lady lol x
Folk either love them or hate them it seems, but I'd recommend a Logitech M570 Trackball to anyone. Even if you must use them with a laptop.

Never believe argos when they say 1/2 price.
And never believe the battery life quoted for wireless mice.
The white ones are prettiest.
I got a Logitech gaming mouse, wired and more buttons than my keyboard, a great mouse, it even has pretty lights on it and the weight is also adjustable by adding or removing weights.!! mind you it set me back £70.00. worth every penny though.
I just can't use a touchpad so always have a mouse. Wireless, corded, optical, pretty changing colours, whatever they all break within a couple of years so don't spend much. I also haven't used a mousemat in years.

@O-G...thanks, but had bought Logitech one before you posted.
@Ratter...£70? Geez!! I think not, lol ;)
@Prudie...no, I didn't pay a lot,....£9.99

Thanks to all for your help
