Why does my laptop keep telling me I can't load photos as they are still importing other photos!

What are you actually trying to do and how are you trying to do it?

Does the message simply appear at random, when you're not even trying to do anything with photos?

Does it appear only when you're trying to view photos. (If so, with which software?).

Does it only appear when you're trying to transfer photos from another device, such as a camera, tablet or mobile phone? (If so, how are you trying to transfers them? By connecting the device to your laptop with a cable and then using software that came with the device? By connecting the device to your laptop and then transferring them via Windows Explorer? By taking the SD card from the device, plugging it into your laptop's card reader and then using Windows Explorer?).

Have you tried simply restarting your laptop and trying again?

Loading a few photos from my phone and being told we can't import as still importing other files, very frustrating as all I want to do is load a few photos previous photos all on picture file and have been imported, not great with this technology so help appreciated!

I assume that you're connecting your phone to your laptop's USB port via a cable (rather than removing the memory card from the phone and putting it into your laptop's card reader).

Are you using software that came with your phone or simply using Windows to transfer the files? (If it's dedicated software, ditch it. Simply treat your phone as if it's an external drive and then drag-&-drop, or copy-&-paste, the files between your phone and the laptop. That will probably be much quicker).

Better still, take the memory card out of your phone and plug it into your laptop's card reader. (If it's a micro-SD card, rather than a full-sized one, you'll probably need to use the adapter that came with the card). Then dragging-&-dropping (or copying-&-pasting) image files should take no time at all.
