I am looking to buy a new mobile phone,at the moment have a Windows 8.1 but as of 29th March cannot use Messenger ,cannot download the app.they tell me my phone will.not support it.
also cannot upgrade it to Windows 10.
From what I have read ,Android appears to be the best option.

Advice please.

Windows phones only have a tiny share of the market. (I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft simply gave up trying to compete there at all fairly soon). There aren't as many apps available for Windows phones as there are for Android ones. While the Android operating system 'sandboxes' apps, meaning that anything dodgy affecting one app can't also affect...

Go for an Android phone which supports 4G services.

Microsoft bought Nokia with the idea of getting into the phone market. They shipped many Nokia Windows phones but few people bought them.

Apple and Android have a stranglehold on the market and it is almost impossible for Windows to get in there.

Microsoft have sold Nokia (at a huge loss) and while they are still in the phone market they have a small market share so buying a Windows phone is NOT a good decision.

Just backing up what was said above to be honest.
