I have finally bought the recorder recommended by Wideboy and so far am delighted......set up and basic recording and playback are easy as you said wideboy.......thanks.

Any particular tips or tricks you have discovered.....would be more than welcome....just one thing in particular, what is the best way to wipe the HHD if need arises.

Thanks again...commoner

Hi, commoner, have a good holiday? Superb machine isn't it. I think there is a format option for the HD (don't know if we'll ever need it though).

If you are using rewriteable DVDs, format them first. Beleve it or not, it will transfer stuff to an ordinary writeable DVD in stages until the disk is full, then you have to finalise the disk to use on other players.

By the way, did I mention the Hard Drive upgrade potential? See here:-

If you find any tips, let me know.

Yes a great time in beautiful Switzerland and even Easyjet went without a hitch <G>

Lovely machine and as you mentioned ..even the wife can use it! Still playing around with things just now but will let you know what I find best about it later......That HD upgrade looks a breeze eh?..but the 80GB seems adequate for the moment so I have archived the instuctions for future use.....would be handy in case the HD "blew" at any stage in the future too

See yah..commoner..
