if they are official upgrades you should not experience any significant problems. If you are considering having your phone unlocked and trying unofficial ones ie newer operating systems all sorts of problems may occur up to and including bricking your phone and / or virus downloads depending on the source of the downloads. Some older phones are literally not capable of running newer operating systems.
