I need to shorten my virgin media cable to relocate my hub. Do I need a special tool to cut the cable, as there is a nut and ferrule arrangement to screw it into the hub

Googling suggests that it's simply an F connector. They're easy enough to fit, as in the video. (You can do the first bit using a Stanley knife if you're careful but proper wire strippers make the task easier):

Why not just coil it up ?
Don't think cutting it will be good idea, reconnecting cables will be difficult if not impossible. Coil cable as OG suggests or buy a shorter one.
Is it just a coaxial cable?

I would coil it up, OG. However, the cable is over 30' long and won't go behind my TV. The cable is the one that plugs into the wall socket, which is fed by the virgin media cable from outside.
Just buy a shorter cable then Melv

Thanks for the link, Chris. I didn't realise it was coax cable. It looks like an easy job.
If you didn't know it was coax it won't be and easy job.
