I have bought a long cable (2metres)to charge my iPad,
It cost me £10,when I tried to use it,it says not charging,
It’s charging fine with a shorter cable (1 metre),
Has the length of the cable have anything to do with it not charging?

I reckon that the longer cable may have an internal connection issue. Or maybe communication between iPad and charger isn't getting through. Certainly it needs a refund or replacement as it's proved unfit for the job.
Thought it was only right to give an up date,
I went back today to say the cable is not charging,
He plugged it in to his socket, came up as charging,
There you are says he no problem, waited 10 seconds then sign came up not charging,
After 5 minutes of trying he admitted something was wrong with the cable,
Do you want another one?
What’s the point if it’s not charging,
Very reluctantly he gave my £10 back.
