Deselect A Tool In Photoshop

Hi guys.Stupid question but i don't know the answer.When I select a tool in photoshop (crop for instance)I crop the photo but can't figure out how to deselect it.Any time my mouse pointer goes over the photo i'm working on, up pops crop.I tried selecting another tool (move for instance) and what i then get when my pointer is over the photo is crop plus move tools.Help

Click the Hand tool
On a mac command d is deselect. Look in the edit menu and see what it is on a pc.
It's Ctrl-D on Windows.
