Are you using Chrome Jackdaw? If so yo will probably need to go to the Chrome settings set up. Gimme 5.

Yes I am.
The one that tells you that you are using an ad-blocker?
They usually have the dots at the top right where you can chose to stop getting notifications.
Ahh not opening chrome .....however what ever browser you are using has a settings option and you can block a site from sending you notifications. You will find it in settings ..site permissions.

No, it's snippets of gossip, mainly TV related.
Have you tried the unmentionable Plus, j/d. ?
Or swap to Firefox, ?.
Question Author
I think I may have done it. I've turned off the sync. We'll see.
Question Author
That won't work, Mamya, as I don't have Android, just a laptop.
From my link.

Chrome (PC and Mac)
1. Go to the browser notification preferences by entering in the URL chrome://settings/content/notifications
2. Find Metro.co.uk in the list and click the 3 dots icon.
3. Click Remove
The sync setting won't sort it Jackdaw. Click on the 3 dots top right ...
Then settings....the cog wheel.( down in the menu box)
Then site permissions (over on the left in the menu box)
Then notifications in the new menu.

Now make sure that you have the sliders both showing blue and then click add in the blocked sites option and add metro to it. When you click add in the block option it opens up a box that you enter the website and will need to begin with https:// and should then say metro or whatever after that. The best way is to copy and paste from the site and it should look like this https://metro.co.uk/

Be careful who you let agree to give you notifications in future perhaps or you can be blitzed with them. Most sites also allow you an option to stop receiving notifications.....but not all.

Iv'e switched off all notifications. Hopefully that will solve the issue. Many thanks for your time and trouble.
Hope so.
Switch to the Metro app.
Question Author
I don't want anything to do with Metro. My problem seems to have been solved as I have had no notifications since yesterday morning.
