Is there any way of typing a text message on a proper keyboard (like I'm now doing on my Mac) and then EASILY transferrring it to my phone so I can send it via text? (No, email isn't really an option).

I can link my Windows PC to Whatsapp on my smartphone, so I can send a Whatsapp from my PC. May not be available for MACs.
The Messages app is on my Mac so I can send texts from there (and receive them)

Hello Fitzer. Is that part of OS? Don't seem to have a Messages on my High Sierra.

My elderly Mac mini is running High Sierra and has it, haven't tried it on there as it's used as a media server under the TV. In applications simply called Messages.

Thanks Tora, helpful.

I'm trying the Chrome version, but getting bogged down as it wants me to install things on my Android, which I don't usually bother doing...

I'll keep at it.

Fitzer. Same Mac here (2014 Mac mini). Found Messages, seems to be linked to Facetime (not used). It didn't want to register a new number for some reason! But the principle seems sound, so, like with Tora's Chrome thingy, I'll persevere and see where I get.

Thanks.
